Welcome to EduPilot AI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our AI-powered educational assistant platform operated by EduPilot NL, located at Neuron Building, TU Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
By accessing or using EduPilot AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.
Important: These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and EduPilot NL. Please read them carefully.
EduPilot AI provides an artificial intelligence-powered educational assistant platform designed to:

- Support with understanding course materials
- Maintain conversation history for reference
For Educators
- Analytics on student learning patterns
- Insights into common student difficulties
- Usage statistics and engagement metrics
- Integration with course materials and LMS
- Administrative tools and reporting
Eligibility Requirements
- You must be affiliated with a participating educational institution
- You must have a valid institutional GitLab account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
- You must comply with your institution's policies regarding educational technology
Account Responsibilities
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Provide accurate and current information during registration
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Use the service only for legitimate educational purposes
- Comply with your educational institution's academic integrity policies
You agree to use EduPilot AI responsibly and in accordance with the following guidelines:
Permitted Uses
- Seeking clarification on course concepts and materials
- Getting help with understanding assignments (not completing them)
- Exploring educational topics related to your courses
- Practicing problem-solving techniques and methodologies
- Accessing course-specific resources and references
Prohibited Uses
- Submitting assignments, exams, or assessments directly from AI responses
- Attempting to circumvent academic integrity policies
- Sharing account credentials with unauthorized individuals
- Using the service for commercial or non-educational purposes
- Attempting to reverse engineer or compromise the AI system
- Uploading or sharing inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonating others or providing false information
Academic Integrity Notice: EduPilot AI is designed to assist learning, not replace it. Always follow your institution's academic integrity policies and use AI assistance ethically in your educational journey.
EduPilot AI Intellectual Property
The EduPilot AI platform, including but not limited to software, algorithms, user interface, design, and AI models, is owned by EduPilot NL and protected by intellectual property laws.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer our platform
- All trademarks and service marks are property of EduPilot NL
- You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the service
- This license terminates when your access to the service ends
Your Content and Data
- You retain ownership of the content you submit to EduPilot AI
- You grant us a license to use your content to provide and improve our services
- You represent that you have the right to share any content you submit
- You agree not to submit copyrighted material without permission
- Course materials remain the property of the respective educational institutions
AI-Generated Content
Content generated by our AI system is provided for educational assistance only. While you may use AI responses to enhance your learning, you should always verify information independently and ensure compliance with your institution's academic policies.
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

IMPORTANT: EduPilot AI is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.

- We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated content
- The service is not a substitute for professional academic guidance
- We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for purpose
- Use of the service is at your own risk and discretion
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EduPilot NL shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Academic consequences resulting from use of our service
- Damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content
- Service interruptions, errors, or security breaches
- Third-party content or actions
Maximum Liability: Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of EduPilot AI shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EduPilot NL, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use or misuse of EduPilot AI
- Your violation of these Terms of Service
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Content you submit to or through the service
- Academic integrity violations or consequences
Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at info@edupilot.nl or using the account deletion feature in your settings.
Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to EduPilot AI immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Misuse of the service or inappropriate conduct
- Threat to the security or integrity of our systems
- Legal or regulatory requirements
- Discontinuation of service to your institution
Effect of Termination
- Your right to access and use EduPilot AI will cease immediately
- You may lose access to your conversation history and data
- We may delete your account and associated data
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of EduPilot AI shall be resolved through the following process:
- Informal Resolution: Contact us at info@edupilot.nl to attempt resolution
- Mediation: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be submitted to mediation
- Arbitration: Unresolved disputes will be settled by binding arbitration in the Netherlands
- Court Jurisdiction: Courts of the Netherlands shall have exclusive jurisdiction
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and EduPilot NL.
Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms will remain in full effect.
Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of future enforcement of that provision.
Assignment
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-platform notifications. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
